Auditions will be held for "The Last Five Years" on May 13th and 14th from 6 PM-9 PM at the Lantzy Rehearsal Hall in Ebensburg.
 
Roles are available for one male and one female. Those interested in auditioning should prepare a contemporary piece of music comparable to the part they are auditioning for. Please avoid choosing a song from the show.
 
Those auditioning will also be asked to cold read a short dialogue from the show with an assigned partner.
 
The show will be performed June 20th-29th.

Pippin auditions will be held on June 3rd and 4th at the Eleanor Lantzy Rehearsal Hall, 427 S. Center Street, Ebensburg, PA from 6:30-9:30PM. If you cannot attend these audition dates, please send a video audition to daveybeyer7@gmail.com that includes your songs and the acting sides listed below. 

NOTE: The part of Theo is to be played by a young actor or actress (12-16 years old). We will be accepting virtual auditions prior to June 3rd at daveybeyer7@gmail.com. This video audition should include singing “Corner of the Sky” measures 1-10 in whatever octave is comfortable for the performer starting on an ‘F’.


The show will be performed July 30th-August 10th.

Music: Those interested in auditioning for Pippin should expect to sing two excerpts from the show. Accompaniment will be provided.

All auditionees will prepare the song “Simple Joys” (measures 97-end). Everyone should also choose a second selection from the following options. Please choose a role you are interested OR your vocal part if auditioning for the ensemble. 

-Sopranos/Catherine - Kind of Woman (measures 44 -end) 

-Altos/Fastrada - Spread a Little Sunshine (measures 9-39)

-Tenors/Pippin - Corner of the Sky (measures 45-end)

-Baritones/Basses/Charlemagne - War is Science (measures 50-62)

-Berthe - No Time at All (measures 72-end)

-Leading Player - Glory - (measures 13-22)

Dance: Those interested in auditioning will also be taught a dance excerpt from the song “Magic to Do.” Please bring loose and breathable clothes and shoes that are suitable for dancing. Pippin is a very dance heavy show, so if you are trained in dancing (Fosse specifically), acrobatics, or have any special skills (juggling, backflips, etc.) please let us know!

Acting:Those auditioning will be asked to cold read a short scene from the musical with a partner.  



Pippin Part Breakdown

LEADING PLAYERS: (1 MALE & 1 FEMALE) Very Strong Vocalists, Strong Dancers, Strong Comedic & Narrating Skills. Must command the stage, entertain the audience and have an air of magic and mystery. 

PIPPIN: (MALE; plays mid-20’s) Very Strong Tenor & Actor. Charlemagne’s eldest son, searching for greatness. 

CHARLEMAGNE: (MALE; plays 30-50 yrs.) Lyric Baritone, Strong Actor. The king & Pippin’s father. A Warrior. 

LEWIS: (MALE; plays 18-25 yrs.) Character Actor, Sings with Ensemble. Pippin’s younger brother. A “star” soldier, a proud, strong egotist, not too bright. 

FASTRADA: (FEMALE, plays 30-50 yrs.) Soprano, Character Actor. Pippin’s beautiful mother and Charlemagne’s conniving and manipulative wife. The Queen. 

BERTHE: (FEMALE, plays 50-80 yrs. ) Alto, Character Actor. Pippin’s energetic, comedic & still beautiful grandmother. Charlemagne’s mother. 

CATHERINE: (FEMALE; plays mid-20’s) Mezzo, Strong Actor. Pippin’s quirky, attractive leading lady and mother to young Theo. 

THEO: (MALE; plays 12-16 yrs.) Young or Small Actor. Catherine’s young son, step-son to Pippin. 

Players : 15 Strong Singers and dancers. Ensemble members will also play roles with speaking lines, including soldiers, monks, newscasters, peasants, nobles and others.
