Cresson Lake Playhouse is excited to offer a winter workshop series for students in grades 3–12! This four-week program introduces a wide range of performing arts skills, including acting, singing, choreography, performance readiness, and audition techniques. Each session is led by professional teaching artists who will help students build confidence and gain a deeper understanding of the theatre process.

By the end of the series, participants who wish to do so will be prepared to audition for a variety of productions—including CLP’s youth theatre show Dare to Dream, Jr., performed for schools May 7–8 at the Barn Theatre and for the public May 7–10.

Students who complete the workshop will also receive a reduced participation fee for Dare to Dream, Jr (from $50 to $25).

Grades 3–5: 10 am – 12 pm

Grades 6–12: 1 pm – 3 pm

Location Cresson Lake Playhouse Rehearsal Hall 427 S. Center St. (bottom level of the Sun Seekers building)

Cost $75 per student for all four sessions. Space is limited and these workshops traditionally fill quickly—reserve early!

Workshop Themes

Week 1: “Wish Upon a Script” — Theatre Basics, Acting, and Directing

Week 2: “Be Our Guest… at a Rehearsal!” — Music & Choreography

Week 3: “Hands-On Magic” — TBD: Props or Costumes

Week 4: “Step into the Spotlight” — Audition Prep & Mock Auditions

This workshop series is designed with Youth Theater auditions in mind, but it’s a fun and valuable experience for all young performers—whether or not they plan to audition!
